SPERO

is a songstress & educator with a fondness for loops and anything Funky. Her ethereal grooves, soulful voice and dark lyrics float over an original twist on finger-style guitar. Luscious blends of r&b, neo-soul and world rhythms, particularly those of Senegal, West Africa, form the bedrock of her musical creations.

She is on a mission of inspiring solidarity through music, movement & supporting healthy food systems to reclaim the beauty & power of our humanity.

Workshops
& Lessons

Music should not be reserved for the stage; for the “talented”, “professionals” or “performers”. Music is a beautiful and strange gift which we can all receive if we are patient with ourselves and open to the possibility.

Spero offers private lessons at flexible rates to adults and children ages 6 and up. Her approach is impactful, her patience is never-ending and most importantly, her lessons are FUN. She prides herself on her intuitive and thoughtful methods — each student receives personalized instruction based on their level, musical aspirations and preferred styles of learning. With over 10 years of experience, she understands the mechanical and emotional challenges that beginners often face when learning a new instrument or picking up an old one, and suggests achievable exercises and action-steps to guide you along your musical journey. Music theory, ear-training, song-writing and improvisation are introduced to students as they become relevant and desired.
